More info

Due to the limited capacity of the Sturmoboot  39, the Deutche Pionieren designed a heavy assault boat  for coastal operations (Operation Sea Lion , Unternehmen Seelöwe). By the 1941 the first prototype of the Stubo42 was tested at the Lake Konstanz.

The Stubo42 was 14.5m  length, 3 meters wide and had a draft of 0.65 m. It was powered by two Vomag diesel engines with 250 hp each. The boat had a weight of 9.5 t and carried 3 crewman and up to 40 men with life jackets.
