In Autumn 1941 the Regia Marina ordered 100 Motolance Landing Crafts that should be used to invade Malta. Only 9 were built. These wooden boats had a crew of nine men, and could transport 30 men.

Motolance ML

They were used by the Reggimiento San Marco at Corsica (November, 10, 1942) and later they saw action transporting troops and material at Tunisia, Sardinia and Corsica and their last operation was at Provenza (Septemer, 8, 1943).
